Stop The Presses!
  • photo: Mike Sullivan / WireImageThe Jackson brothers play L.A.'s Greek Theatre this weekend as part of their "Unity" reunion tour. But don't expect to see niece Paris Jackson showing up for the gig, unless Michael's daughter is there to picket.

The name of the Jacksons' tour seems ironic — to say the least — in light of the enormous family feud that's coming to light, with 14-year-old Paris and her 82-year-old grandmother Katherine forming an intergenerational alliance on one side, pitted against her uncles and aunt Janet on the other. The most serious issue is a dispute over Michael Jackson's will, although Paris's acting aspirations and a stroke that Katherine may or may not have suffered are also causing rancor among the kin.

  • George Michael {Photo: Jon Furniss}Careless whispers were definitely not on the agenda when George Michael woke from a lengthy coma late last year. In fact, quite the contrary--the singer and former Wham! frontman scared his doctors by speaking his first words in an accent totally different from his usual dialect.

Michael, who normally talks like the London native that he is, found himself inexplicably using a distinctive burr from England's West Country for a couple days. Since he'd just spent three weeks in a coma due to a life-threatening case of pneumonia, medical staff feared this meant he'd suffered brain damage.

"My doctors were genuinely worried that I had this condition, it's a genuine thing where people wake from comas speaking French or some other language they learned at school," Michael explained to a London radio station.

"They were worried I could have spoken like that for the rest of my life...Not that there's anything wrong with the West Country accent--but it's a bit weird when you come from North London."

  • [Photo: Twitter.com]Leave it to Lady Gaga to take what could be a tasteful nude and make it as creepy as possible. To promote her debut fragrance called Fame (presumably named after her first album The Fame), the perfume's freshly released print ad features a completely nude Gaga barely covered by strategically placed tiny men crawling all over her!

This certainly isn't the first time that Lady Gaga has appeared practically nude, regularly flashing the goods in strange and skimpy couture pieces and even baring her breasts in fashion editorials (all artfully done, of course). But the fact that Gaga expressed some apprehension about her Fame ad via Twitter makes the image all the more intriguing. If the queen of shock pop is a little nervous, we all should brace ourselves.

  • Elton John {Photo: Simon James}World-famous icon Elton John may have what seems like a perfect life--he's happily settled down with husband David Furnish, and the couple are the parents of young son Zachary, who turns 2 this Christmas. However, the singer admits that although things are great now, he feels guilty about the years he virtually lost to drug and alcohol addiction.

"I wasted such a big part of my life," John admits in an exclusive interview with Today's Matt Lauer. "I was a drug addict and self-absorbed."

He noted that he hit the peak of his addiction during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the early '80s. "I was having people die right, left and center around me; friends," he told Lauer. "And yet, I didn't stop the life that I had, which is the terrible thing about addiction."

John also admits that he had no fear of contracting AIDS during that time. "When you take a drug and you take a drink and you mix those two together, you think you're invincible," he explained. "I came out of this

Glass ceilings still abound but in the music industry a group of young women are busting it down. Forbes has compiled a list of the Highest-Paid Stars Under 30 and it shows that now is a good time to be a young female pop artist.

  • Usher {photo: Johnny Nunez}The tragic water accident that left pop star Usher's 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover brain-dead on Monday has yet another sad element revealed this week: A family friend is reported to be the one who allegedly struck the youth with a jet ski.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard has been identified by officials and is currently under investigation for the collision, which took place Friday on Georgia's Lake Lanier.

An unidentified 15-year-old girl in the water with Glover was also hit by the vehicle, and suffered a cut to her head as well as a broken arm.

"Basically, a pontoon was pulling two juveniles on an inner tube, and the watercraft ran over the top of them," Sgt. Mike Burgamy with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources explained to the Daily News, adding that it all happened in a matter of a minute and that Glover took the brunt of the hit.

  • The nation's record heat wave seems to be making everyone feel a little steamy--including notoriously private couple Gwyneth Paltrow and rocker husband Chris Martin.

Footage has just surfaced of a rare moment between the two: At Martin's show with his band Coldplay in Miami last Friday, the frontman decided to throw all caution to the wind, run into the audience, and give his wife a kiss in front of 20,000 fans. Now that's what we call a very public PDA.

Martin's smooch was definitely G-rated--just a quick peck on the lips--but Paltrow was set all a-flutter by the gesture, smiling goofily and even hiding her face with her hands at one point. Too cute!

Her surprised reaction to her husband's impromptu move was likely genuine, since the two are well-known for almost never appearing together (let alone kissing) in public.

Paltrow and Martin met backstage at a 2002 Coldplay concert, and were married in December 2003. They have two children, 8-year-old daughter Apple, and 6-year-old
