  • When Bee Gees legend Robin Gibb passed away on Sunday at the age of 62 following a battle with cancer, fans and the music world were quick to express condolences--many of them directed to Robin's older brother, Barry, who is the sole living brother of the Gibb family.

Barry Gibb has finally responded--not with a formal statement, but with a tender tribute that celebrates not only Robin, but also his other late siblings Maurice (who died in 2003) and baby brother Andy (who passed at age 30 in 1988). The video he's posted on YouTube is titled "Bodding"--a family nickname for Robin--and shows amazing footage of the family growing up, as well as documentation of the various stages of the Bee Gees' record-setting career.

The moving tribute is all set to the Bee Gees ballad "Heart Like Mine." Bee Gees fans will undoubtedly delight in the vintage glimpses of the Gibbs--but just a warning: it's a tearjerker. You may need to reach for your box of tissues.

  • Barry & Robin Gibb in 2010 (photo: Kevin Mazur / WireImage)We're sure we're not the only ones with Bee Gees hits in our heads since the sad news of Robin Gibb's passing. With the untimely death of brother Maurice back in 2003, Barry is the last Gibb brother standing. Searches on "Barry Gibb", "Robin Gibb", and "Bee Gees songs" immediately hit a high note in Yahoo! Search.

The three British-born brothers, twins Robin and Maurice along with eldest -- and now last surviving -- sibling Barry, made up the Bee Gees.

Barry is sure to keep the music alive: His trademark high-pitched voice in the hit song "Stayin' Alive" from the movie "Saturday Night Fever" stayed alive long after the movie came and went; the soundtrack became a 15-time platinum seller. And his songwriting skills put him in the Guinness Book of World Records as the second most successful songwriter, behind Paul McCartney.

Barry has also kept up with the times. He mentored Jordin Sparks on Season 6 of "American Idol," and enjoyed a "Glee" tribute for its "Saturday Night Glee-ver" episode, which covered six of the band's hit songs. The 65-year-old's website advertised his latest solo performance for Hard Rock Live.

After Maurice died, the surviving brothers retired the Bee Gees name, but continued to pair up to preserve their musical legacy. Robin remained in the U.K., while Barry continues to spend much of his time in Florida with his wife, Linda, and their five children.

  • It takes quite a distraction to make a TV director barely afford Cee-Lo Green any close-ups during his own performance. But what's a camera crew to do when Cee-Lo so willingly gives up the spotlight to a breakdancer who's doing all his hoofing on a single leg?

Cee-Lo was actually doing a lot of sharing at the Billboard Awards, since the performance was by his reunited hip-hop group, Goodie Mob. When they premiered their comeback single, "Fight to Win," on The Voice in April, the primary visual effect was Green's artificially illuminated teeth. But for Sunday night's kudocast, they brought along Jeak Sok, a one-legged dancer who's touring in Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson-themed show.

Sok dressed up as a soldier for the occasion, in what implicitly seemed like a tribute to the armed forces who've had to discover new avenues of physicality after battle-related amputations. But the military theme didn't quite hold through Goodie Mob's entire medley, as "Fight to Win" segued into a

  • (photo: Frank Hoensch / Getty Images)Did a singer's name ever seem so prophetic and appropriate as in the case of Robin, one of the great male songbirds of rock's golden age? Bee Gee Robin Gibb succumbed to a longtime struggle with liver cancer Sunday, a spokesperson confirmed. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer was 62.

His death dashed the hopes of Bee Gees fans who'd hoped that a miracle was in store after the  singer emerged from a coma late last month. Prior to his regaining consciousness, his family had revealed that Gibb had been given only a 10 percent chance of surviving and seemed to be preparing the public for his imminent death. Despite the shock fans are now experiencing, family members surely feel grateful for the month they had with Gibb after his unexpected awakening.

Disco fans are feeling their mortality this weekend, as the death of one of the principal voices of the 15-times-platinum Saturday Night Fever soundtrack follows the passing of Donna Summer by a mere three days.

Robin Gibb, one-third of the Bee Gees, died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, his spokesperson has confirmed via a statement. Gibb was 62 years old.

"The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery," reads the statement. "The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."

Two years ago, Gibb battled colon and liver cancer, but despite making what he called a "spectacular recovery," a secondary tumor recently developed, complicated by a case of pneumonia.

Gibb was born in Manchester, England, in 1949, along with twin brother Maurice. (Maurice died in 2003 of complications from a twisted intestine; eerily, Robin had surgery for the same medical issue in 2010.) Along with their older brother Barry, the brothers began harmonizing as a trio in Australia, where the family moved in

  • source: TwitterWe don't advocate picking up hitchhikers (they might have hooks or axes or really bad breath), but this story about a rock band picking up a happy (and famous) traveler is too cool to ignore.

Indie band Here We Go Magic were traveling through Ohio in their van when they came across a hitchhiker on the side of Interstate 70. The man looked a lot like legendary film director John Waters. So, the band turned around and took another look. Turns out it was John Waters, the icon behind the groundbreaking "Pink Flamingos," as well as "Hairspray" and "Cecil B. Demented."
