What's in a name? Ask the folks who bought the intellectual property rights to CBGB, the legendary New York club that was a beacon of the punk movement in the 1970s before finally going dark for good in 2006… Or did it?

A group of investors has come forward with the intention to reopen the shuttered hotspot in a new downtown Manhattan location, some time after this summer's inaugural CBGB music festival, which will host hundreds of bands at a slew of existing New York venues July 5-8.

Which leads to the inevitable question: WWJD? What would Joey (or Johnny) do?

The death of Adam Yauch, also known as MCA of the Beastie Boys, inspired awesome tributes from bands around the world. Yauch was 47 and had been battling cancer for years. The tributes were in the spirit of MCA -- fun and raucous.

First, Coldplay performs "You Gotta Fight for Your Right (to Party)." Singer Chris Martin tickles the ivories and does a slow and mellow version of the party anthem. American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson suffered an extraordinarily emotional day on Monday when testifying at the trial of the man accused of murdering her mother, brother, and nephew in 2008. Especially heartbreaking, however, were her revelations of the close bond she had shared with her slain mother, Darnell Donerson.

According to ABC News, Hudson was overcome with emotion nearly every time she spoke of her mom on the witness stand. She testified that she knew something was wrong on the day of the killings--because she didn't receive her customary text from Donerson that morning.Hudson and her mother in 2008

Hudson choked on her tears as she described their relationship. "I slept with my mom until I was 16 years old," she told the courtroom. She related how she would sign blank checks and leave them for her mother to use for household bills.

When it comes to bad years, nothing compares to 2011-12 for Sinead O'Connor. After apparent suicide attempts, an on-again/off-again marriage, and other public mishaps, the singer has publicly announced that she is "very unwell, from bipolar disorder" after previously insisting that she'd been misdiagnosed with the malady. And not only has she canceled her tour dates for the rest of the year, O'Connor claims she's quitting the arts altogether, asking via Twitter if "anyone ha[s] a job for a very clever woman with massive heart and courage, who adores people and has to escape [the] music bizniz."
