  • Dane Cook and Steven Tyler [A Concert for Boston]The Boston Strong benefit concert that streamed over the web Thursday night was notable for appearances by homegrown artists ranging from Aerosmith to the reunited New Kids on the Block. But the most talked about act of the night was Dane Cook... and not because America suddenly fell in love with him all over again.

The hostility toward Cook toward the end of the show became rampant enough that the comedian became a trending topic on Twitter — out of sheer contempt. He's always been a polarizing comic, but what caused him to become a social media supervillain on a night devoted to charity and good vibes? Just this: The web feed being viewed by millions went dead as soon as he took the stage and came back on as soon as he left, leading to rampant speculation that he had disallowed organizers from sending his set over the web like everyone else's.

Eventually Cook confirmed it himself, sounding blithe about the rampant contempt directed his way: "Hey everyone sorry my set was not a part of

In 1973, former Beatle Ringo Starr scored one of his biggest ever solo hits with a song called "Photograph." Four decades later, Ringo is making news again with photographs, but this time it's with 100 previously unseen pictures he took of himself and his former Fab Four bandmates during their '60s heyday.

Ringo is unveiling the photos in his new e-book, aptly titled Photograph. It includes shots of Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison during their maiden U.S. trek as well as their legendary trip to India to turn off their minds, relax and float down stream with the Maharishi.

  • Photo: Kevin WinterThe Jackson family may have found the smoking gun they've been looking for. Yesterday in their wrongful death trial against AEG Live, a top executive for the concert promotion firm admitted that he wrote an email that stated the company employed the doctor involved in Michael Jackson's death.

AEG Live Co-CEO Paul Gongaware had a hard time recalling the email, but ultimately admitted that he said Dr. Conrad Murray was an employee of AEG.

That's a huge blow for AEG, since Murray has already been convicted and is doing time for involuntary manslaughter. It would seem that a jury would simply have to connect the dots and find the concert promoter liable in the wrongful death of Jackson, and be on the hook to pay the Jackson family for damages estimated to be more than $1 billion.

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is never at a loss for words and now he's opened up about his band's new deal with Cash Money Records. The label recently released the band's comeback single, "Ready to Go," featuring Cash Money chief Lil Wayne.

The interesting thing about the band's new deal, which was announced in February, is that its releases will still be distributed by Universal, which also distributed its former label, Interscope. In an interview with Spin, Durst says although the same corporate parent may be in the mix, the band feels good about its new label deal.

(Instagram)There's no denying Rihanna knows how to heat things up, but on Tuesday she was literally on fire. While performing in Portugal on her Diamonds World Tour, the pop star appeared to burst into flames.

Unlike the time Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire while filming a Pepsi commercial, this was a controlled outburst. Although the photo RiRi posted on Instagram made it look like her hair was on fire, she was actually standing in front of carefully placed pyrotechnics, reports InStyle.

The star was wearing a striking ensemble of skin-tight red pants, knee-high yellow boots and a black-and-white bustier (hopefully fireproof), and she dramatically threw back her long blond locks as the flames ignited.

Rihanna's world tour continues Thursday with a show in Istanbul and takes her throughout Europe for most of the summer before hitting Australia in September. The next scheduled US date is on November 11 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
