"So @MarsCuriosity… does Mars look the same as it did in 2000?" the 30-year-old singer tweeted earlier this week along with a link to her "Oops!…I Did It Again" video.

The video for the song released in 2000 features Spears wearing a memorable red latex catsuit and singing and dancing on the red planet. She also shares a moment with an astronaut, who presents her the fictional "Heart of the Ocean" necklace from the 1997 film "Titanic."

Someone at NASA , which landed Curiosity on Mars on August 5, tweeted an equally charming reply to the pop princess. "Hey Brit Brit. Mars is still looking good. Maybe someday an astronaut will bring me a gift, too. Drill bits crossed ;)" wrote @MarsCuriosity.

It's hard to believe Spears' video premiered 12 years ago. She later picked up three MTV Video Music Awards for her effort, including Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
