Christina Aguilera and Grace Jones Say ‘No, Thanks’ To Lady Gaga Comparisons

Two legendary popstars have jumped on an anti-Gaga bandwagon: Both Christina Aguilera and GraceJones were recently compared to the "Paparazzi" prima donna, and it seems neithersinger is particularly happy about the news.

Former Mickey Mouse Clubber Aguilera is set to release a new album,"Bionic," in June, her first in four years. The album'sfirst single, "Not Myself Tonight," has been getting radio play for the pastfew weeks, and many who have heard it compared the synthetic beats and breathyvocals to the music of Lady Gaga.

Christina shrugged off the comparisons, explaining that it's all part of the business. She told the BertShow on Q100 in Atlanta Tuesday morning: "It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. I'vebeen around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself."

Christina's been getting Gagacomparisons ever since the Fame Monster artist arrived on the scene. In 2008,Aguilera admitted that she wasn't even really aware of Lady Gaga, telling the LATimes: "I'm not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don't knowif it is a man or a woman. I just wasn't sure. I really don't spend any time onthe Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect."

Legendary singer, actress, andmodel Grace Jones has some Gaga resemblances to contend with as well, thoughshe's accusing the pop star of copying her look. The complaints cameafter Gaga reportedly asked Jones to work on a collaboration. Jones turned thesinger down, explaining to TheGuardian: "I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original andsomeone who is not copying me, actually."

Grace became a fashion icon inthe late '70s, perfecting an outrageous personal style that includes hoods, collars, and body paint - all things that have come to represent Lady Gaga aswell. Jones, a former Bond girl and Warhol muse, thinks the similarities aremore than just coincidental. "I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn,"she told The Guardian. "And that does kind of piss me off."

And how about Gaga's talent?About the music, Grace said, simply: "I wouldn't go to see her."
