"I toured the first ward in Santa Monica and was deeply inspired and touched by the stories of all the teens who were receiving treatment," Simpson said in a video statement.
The 18-year-old singer is urging fans to donate one dollar with each ticket purchased for his Paradise tour to support Teen Cancer America.
"We've learned that cancer doesn't discriminate and it can affect people of all ages," Simpson said. "So I wanted to do my best to show my support to fellow teens in their battle."
Simpson's tour, which also features Ryan Beatty and Before You Exit, launches June 12 in Phoenix and runs through July 27 in Denver. You can keep up with his schedule here. His second full-length album, Surfer's Paradise, comes out July 16 and his autobiography, Welcome to Paradise: My Journey is scheduled for release in October. It is unknown whether proceeds from those releases will benefit Teen Cancer America.
