Disney Superstars Prompt Kids To Go Green

More than 350,000 kids have registered for Disney's FriendsFor Change: Project Green. The program asks youth to pledge to helpconserve water, reduce waste, and curb pollution.

Disney has enlisted 29 of its biggest stars to bringattention to the program. Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, andDemi Lovato have recorded a song and video for "Send It On," the program'santhem.

The three verses of the song are performed as separateduets. Miley and former beau Nick Jonas sing the first verse, and are followedby Demi and Joe Jonas, and Selena and Kevin Jonas, respectively.

 

The lyrics encourage listeners to go green to help theenvironment. The chorus includes phrases such as "be a part, reach a heart,"and "with one little action, the chain reaction will never stop."

Participants help Disney determine how to spend "more than$1 million that will be donated to environmental causes over the next year,"according to a press release.

"If the kids who have already reported back on theirprogress keep up with their pledges over the next year, a potential 38 millionpounds of carbon dioxide will be prevented from polluting the atmosphere-theequivalent of taking 3164 cars off the road every day for a year," aspokesperson said in a statement.
