Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Pitbull And Others Record ‘We Are The World’ In Spanish

"Somos El Mundo," the Spanish version of "We Are The World"premiered Monday on "El Show de Cristina." More than 70 top Latin artistsjoined for the remake to benefit Haiti relief.

 

Emilio and Gloria Estefan wrote the Spanish adaptation, andEmilio, Quincy Jones, and Univision produced it.

The song is structured like the English remake, "We Are TheWorld 25 - For Haiti" and also includes the hip-hop breakdown closer to theending that features Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, and Black Eyed Peas member Taboo.
