Move over, Crazy Frog. Sayonara, Gorillaz. Buh-bye, Chipmunks. See ya later, Jem and your Holograms. Why? Because the cartoon world's ultimate pop-culture pop star, Hello Kitty, has a new song out.
Actually, the Kitty ditty, "The World Is Saying Hello Kitty"--the new official theme for the MMORPG.com Hello Kitty Online (HKO) video game--was recorded by a mystery group called the Sanrio Digital Frequency; features vocals by Chantal; and was penned by Greg Chun (composer of all music for the Adventures Of Hello Kitty & Friends animated series). So apparently Hello Kitty is just a lip-syncing pretty pop puppet here, much like C+C Music Factory's Zelma Davis or the guys in Milli Vanilli.
But Miss HK looks adorable in the song's new music video, and honestly, "The World Is Saying Hello Kitty" is about as catchy as the Crazy Frog hit, is much cuter, and is slightly less annoying.
So when's the squeakquel?
