Janelle & Ferrell: One Vuvuzelawesome Combo

Fabulously pompadoured future-soul diva Janelle Monae reached an entire new unlikely audience--of sports fanatics--when she appeared on the ESPY Awards Wednesday evening, singing a duet with Will Ferrell, who revived his famous unmodulated-voice character from Saturday Night Live to tell the presumably fictional tale of Jeff Vuvuzela, inventor of the World Cup-popularized plastic horn the vuvuzela.

Grammy-nominated buzz artist Janelle, whose new album The ArchAndroid is one of this year's most critically acclaimed releases, has collaborated in the past with Outkast, Big Boi, B.O.B., Lupe Fiasco, and Of Montreal...but this latest collabo may be her most celebrated yet.

Fast-forward to the 4:15 mark to see Janelle and "Jeff's" drony duet:

Intrigued? Well, it remains to be seen if Janelle will incorporate vuvuzelas on her ArchAndroid follow-up (though, given her penchant for experimentation, we wouldn't put it past her); however, her current music is definitely something to cheer about. Get familiar with Janelle below!
