Katy Perry Takes John Mayer On A Romantic Hometown Trip

As far as we know, Katy Perry hasn't taken new beau John Mayer home to meet her family yet. However, she has taken him home! The couple took a little trip to Perry's hometown of Santa Barbara--a romantic area about two hours north of Los Angeles--earlier this week, where they explored the local landmarks together.

A highlight of the sightseeing tour was the couple's visit to the Mission Santa Barbara, which was founded by a Franciscan friar in 1786 and from which the city itself takes its name. According to x17, Perry and Mayer kissed and held hands while checking out the structure's beautiful architectural features.

Apparently the couple weren't too worried about attracting attention--Mayer wore a gaudy cowboy hat that nearly rivaled the mission's towers in terms of height. It was hard for photographers to miss.

The jury's out as to how serious Perry (whose divorce from Russell Brand finalized in July) and well-publicized ladies' man Mayer actually are about each other; however, the two have been spending plenty of time together in the past few weeks. They spent both of their October birthdays together--Mayer's bash reportedly including family members as well as close friends.
