Kelly Clarkson Is ‘Super Happy,’ ‘In Love’ With Boyfriend

Kelly and Brandon {Photo: Todd Williamson}Looks like Kelly Clarkson won't have too much angst to draw upon when writing her next hit song--or the next, or the next. The American Idol champ is feeling pretty good these days, especially regarding her new romance with boyfriend Brandon Blackstock. Apparently, things couldn't be running smoother.

Clarkson, 30, began dating the 35-year-old Blackstock--who is the son of her manager, Narvel Blackstock, and stepson of country superstar Reba McEntire--late last year.

In July, she put her Texas ranch up for sale--a residence she's called home for years, only 25 minutes from her childhood town--cementing her base as Nashville in order to be close to her beau.

"I'm just super happy," she told People this week. "And, you know, I'm also in love!"

In addition to being giddily head-over-heels, the singer admits a practical side to her romance. Clarkson relates that one of the things she likes best about Blackstock is...his job!

Blackstock is a talent manager himself (a famous name he handles: Voice coach Blake Shelton), so he understands all the demands on his girlfriend's time.

"He gets my job and he gets how busy it can get," Clarkson confirmed. "And he gets the sacrifices that we both have to make with our jobs."

Clarkson told Redbook in June that her schedule genuinely did interfere with her ability to have a relationship. "I've been working my butt off...I've only had four boyfriends in my life, and they didn't last long," she explained.

However, Blackstock "makes me happy," she admitted. "Maybe I've never been happy," she mused to the magazine.

Despite the pair's star-studded career paths, Clarkson insists they are, at heart, a totally normal--perhaps even a bit dorky--couple. "We're very super real--like, what you see is what you get," she told People. They own a German Shepherd named "Bear," and enjoy ordinary pleasures such as  movies and football games.

Don't plan on any crazy surprises from this twosome: "I don't think we're cool enough."
