Kid Rock Slams Justin Bieber, Compares Him to Vanilla Ice

By Laura Ferreiro

Anybody who's been keeping tabs on Justin Bieber knows that the teen idol has been making plenty of headlines lately – but for all the wrong reasons.

The 19-year-old singer has been caught on camera in recent months scuffling with photographers and had highly publicized rants and confrontations with nightclub bouncers. He also recently struck a man while driving his Ferrari (although police determined he wasn't at fault in the incident) and rapper King Kevi is seeking a restraining order against him. It's enough to make your head spin!

Kid Rock has his own views on Bieber and these incidents, and was very outspoken about them on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday. Talking to the shock jock, the veteran rocker compared Biebs to one-hit-wonder Vanilla Ice, whose music career quickly went downhill after he released "Ice Ice Baby" in 1990 and went on to a career in real estate.

"Tell me if this is wrong. Justin Bieber…is 100 percent like watching Vanilla Ice all over again. It's exactly the same," Rock told Stern, adding, "Well, as soon as Bieber has a hit, he'll be like Vanilla Ice." Yikes!

Rock went on to say that he actually feels sorry for Bieber, pointing out that it can't be easy to have that type of money and fame at such a young age. "The kid's young," he said. "He's got some money. He's got the world in his hands. It's just kind of sad to see him go down this trajectory. It's gonna be a very long ride down. We all know the story. I kind of feel for the kid, to be honest with you."

Kid Rock was talking to Stern to promote his $20 Best Night Ever concert tour, which offers fans affordable tickets and reduced prices on concessions, and kicks off June 28 in Virginia. Meanwhile, Bieber will resume his arena tour on Saturday with a performance in San Diego before headlining two shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles June 24 and 25.
