Dozens of celebrities from the worlds of music, television,film, news and sports have confirmed participation in Stand Up To Cancer, aone-hour telethon to broadcast Friday, September 10, at 8 p.m. EST & PST /7 p.m. CT on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBOLatino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TVOne, and VH1.
The effort seeks to generate proceeds to benefit cancerresearch in hopes of expediting bringing new treatments to patients.
Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, and Brian Williams will host. Stevie Wonder will lead one of the night's musicperformances, a collaboration with Natasha Bedingfield, Queen Latifah, MartinaMcBride, Aaron Neville, and Dave Stewart.
George Clooney, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lady Antebellum, Derek Fisher, ChristinaApplegate, Leona Lewis, Sharon Osbourne, Billie Joe Armstrong, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Will Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow,Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Denzel Washington, and Sally Field are among the personalitiesscheduled to participate.

The inaugural televised fundraising event aired in 2008 to170 countries and helped raise more than $100 million.
