The performer hinted on her Facebook page of the big event, posting on her wall, "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."
The news certainly caught the Web by storm, with look-ups immediately skyrocketing on "britney spears engaged."
The night of the proposal was Trawick's birthday, but Spears was the one who got a ring. The pop idol gifted her man with a rockin' motorcycle he admired from her music video "Criminal."
Sources close to the couple told TMZ that Trawick proposed the old-fashioned way, getting down on one knee -- asking dad Jamie Spears for his daughter's hand -- and agreeing to sign a pre-nup.
This will be the third marriage for Spears. Perhaps three times is the charm? Trawick and Spears met when he was her TV manager in 2006, when the singer was married to Kevin Federline, who she divorced in 2007. In 2009, Spears and Trawick began dating.
The agent gave up his job at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment for Spears -- the two ended their professional relationship in 2010, when they announced they had a romantic involvement. The two have been together ever since.
Sources told TMZ that Trawick had planned to pop the question once Spears's "Femme Fatale" tour was over. Despite the couple's high-profile life -- the two are constantly photographed along with Spears's two boys, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5 -- Trawick claims that they are "really normal." He told Ryan Seacrest, "We just like to watch movies. We work out a lot. We love to work out. We do stuff together like that. We take walks."
Trawick told Access Hollywood that he is "over the moon, as [is] she" about the engagement.
