Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, the Grammy Award-winning singer saw Maria's video tribute less than 24 hours after the young fan had posted it. Gaga then re-Tweeted the video to her followers early Thursday, writing, "Can't stop crying watching this. This is why I make music. She is the future."

"When did you make that video?" Billy asked of the clip, which had garnered more than 452,000 views as of Thursday evening.

"Oh, just last night," Maria answered. "I don't really know what time I put it on YouTube but Lady Gaga Tweeted it at like, seven in the morning or earlier.

"Pretty amazing," she added.

"Who told you [about Gaga's Tweet]?" Billy asked.

"My sisters and my dad -- they were kind of freaking out!" Maria told Billy. "They're like, 'Lady Gaga Tweeted you!'"

Maria said that while she hasn't yet heard from the pop superstar personally, she's been receiving so many press phone calls she had to enlist the help of her 22-year-old sister to act as her "publicist"!

"If you could say something to Lady Gaga right now... what would you say to her?" Billy asked.

"I just want to say, um, that she writes good songs," Maria revealed. "She has good meaning to her songs and that I really do idolize her."

While she has yet to hear from Gaga directly, Access Hollywood caught up with the pop superstar in New York City on Thursday, where she was promoting the new MAC Cosmetics VIVA GLAM campaign, and Gaga said she was taken aback by the response to the song, especially from her younger fans.

"That's what I've been most surprised about is the younger generation stood up when I put this song out. It really, the record spoke for itself, it reached a lot of people - it's much bigger than me," Gaga told Access.
