No Doubt Put Tour Plans On Hold–For A Good Reason!

Stefani at work in the studio this week/FacebookNo Doubt has some bad news and some good news for their fans this week. The bad news first: Those who were looking forward to catching the band live this year will have to wait, as they’ve postponed tour plans for the moment.

The good news—which we think well makes up for the bad—is that they made this decision in order to work on a new album!

A post on No Doubt’s Facebook account explained the situation: While touring behind comeback album Push And Shove last year, frontwoman Gwen Stefani found herself “inspired” to write new material. The group decided to go with the unexpected creative jolt and enter the studio at the beginning of 2013.

“The new music started flowing with unexpected ease,” states their note. “After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting.”

“We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don't want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired.”

The band further noted that they are hoping to get the new music to fans as soon as possible, will update frequently with news and photos from the studio, and thanked everyone for their patience and support.

Last year’s effort, Push And Shove, marked No Doubt’s first studio album in more than a decade (the preceding being 2001’s Rock Steady). The band went on hiatus in 2003 when the members decided to pursue solo projects; and reunited in 2008 to begin work as a unit again.
