Rapper Too Short Arrested For Alleged DUI, Drug Possession

Too Short (Photo: Paul A. Hebert)Rapper Too Short found himself in no shortage of trouble Wednesday morning, when he was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with a DUI and felony narcotics possession.

Short (real name Todd Anthony Shaw) allegedly appeared to be under the influence when he was pulled over at around 3 a.m. in the morning for an unspecified traffic violation. According to the L.A. Times, local police noted that Short attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.

TMZ reported that Short was running from a breathalyzer test (which they allege he ended up failing) and that he actually tripped and fell.

Calls to Short's representative were not immediately returned at the time of this report's posting.

The native Californian, 46, is heralded as one of the pioneering figures in West Coast hip-hop. He's seen his share of trouble with the law, having been arrested twice on suspicion of DUI in 2009, as well as charged with misdemeanor battery in 2010. Gossip had it that he was involved in the fatal shooting of Las Vegas rapper Kenny Clutch in February; however, Short denied this on his Facebook page immediately following the incident.
