Stop The Presses!

Rihanna’s Snakeskin Boots: Style-Strangling Or Runway Chic?

[Photo: Gotcha Images/Splash News]Looks like love wasn't the only thing Rihanna found in a hopeless place. While partying in London, the singer flaunted some scaly thigh-high boots that left us gasping for air—and would seriously upset an old friend of Britney Spears!

Paired with a burgundy leather mini-skirt and baggy sweatshirt, the usually fashion-savvy singer's outfit looked cobbled together like she rolled out of bed. Even with the garish pattern aside, the shape of her boots made Rihanna's traffic-stopping legs look like stovepipes! Hopefully Rihanna was hiding the perfect top underneath that lazy day sweatshirt that brought everything together.

Snakeskin in very in for the fall season, we get it. But for such a standout piece like humungous snakeskin boots, Rihanna would've benefited from matching them with very subtle, more refined pieces—give those boots the complements they deserve! Or just go all out crazy with standout everything because we all love a hot mess fashion extremist. Either way, it's better to have an outfit that is eye-popping than eye-rolling—you're Rihanna after all!

And looks like Rihanna has more than style critics to dodge: PETA has already slammed the singer for her wardrobe choice, calling her "callous" and a "freak".

Salting to the wound, the PETA spokesperson added a jab at Rihanna's recent admittance to still loving ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, saying the singer "may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can't go on Oprah to cry about it."

Ouch!
