Russell Brand Takes a Trip in Psychedelic Noel Gallagher Video

Russell Brand was extremely convincing in his typecast role of wayward rocker Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek, but he may have landed the part of a lifetime in his good friend Noel Gallagher's epic eight-minute music video for "AKA...What A Life."

In the video, Russell plays some sort of wicked Wonderland mad hatter who lures a golden-haired lass into his dark lair and then forces her to go on a psychedelic trip. "There's really no decision at all. You already know what you are going to do...Once you have taken a little sip of this splendid brew, the world will never look quite the same again. And as I explained to you, you never really had a choice." Two female minions then pour blue mystery liquid down the hapless, Alice-esque blonde's pretty throat, as Russell drawls, "Ladies, make it a little easier for her. Don't be flustered. It's okay. It's just a drizzle!"

The premise of the video is interesting, and the casting is certainly ironic, considering the now-sober Mr. Perry's very well-documented past struggles with drug addiction. But certainly, this was the role Russell was born to play. (And worry not--our hero Noel rescues the damsel in distress at the end of the clip. Sorry for the spoiler.)

Take a long, strange trip with Noel and Russell and watch the full, freaky "AKA...What A Life" video below:
