Scarlett Johansson Forms All-Girl Band She Compares To The Go-Gos

(Bruce Gilkas/FilmMagic)Actress and singer Scarlett Johansson is working on new music with her new group.

“I have an all-girls band, and we’re called The One And Only Singles, and we’re doing our Go-Go’s thing,” she revealed Tuesday during an interview on Live! With Kelly and Michael.

Johansson, who released her debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, in 2008, describes the ensemble as a “super force.”

Johansson thinks just as highly of British singer Adele, who she competed against for this year's Best Original Song Oscar. Adele’s James Bond track “Skyfall” received the honor.

“It’s funny because I never thought I would be nominated for an Oscar next to Adele,” Johansson told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.

“That was very surprising to me,” she added. “It’s just a beautiful documentary called Chasing Ice, and my friend did all the music for us. He called me up and did a song. It was a beautiful song that he wrote. I never could have imagined that we would have been nominated for an Oscar.”

In the meantime, Johansson’s fans can find her on Broadway, starring in the revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
