Black Stone Cherry lets fans personalize their music video, "Things My Father Said," to send Father's Day tributes to their own dads.
Black Stone Cherry's new song and video pays homage to a cherished paternal figure. The song recalls memories of a father teaching his son how to tie his shoes, build a car and other life long lessons. The video features personal photos and clips of fathers and their children.
I made a card using photos of my family. The process is quick and easy. To be honest, it took me more time to pick out the photos than it did to create the card.
First, I went to Black Stone Cherry's site for the promotion: http://www.thingsmyfathersaid.net/
It instructed me to upload four photos. I scanned my hard drive for cool shots of me holding my twins in the hospital on the day they were born, another with the kids at my daughter's Sleepy Hallow production, a birthday party and camping trip.
After uploading the photos, I was prompted to type in a one line greeting.
The next screen asks for the sender and receiver's email addresses. The entire process took me 20 minutes. But 15 of those minutes were spent picking the photos.
This is a great idea.
