Sexy Sax Man ‘Careless Whisper’ Prank Nears 1 Million Plays

Kenny G may be a world renowned saxophonist with Grammyawards and a "Guinness Book Of World Records" entry for recording the longestsaxophonist note ever, but he's got nothing on Sergio Flores better known as SexySax Man.

Flores has created a viralstorm with his hilarious video "Sexy sax man serenade (prank feat. SergioFlores)." As part of a hoax orchestrated by YouTube star Mike Diva, Flores takes tothe streets of Los Angelesand bombards public places without invitation, performing George Michael'ssaxophone ballad "Careless Whisper."

The video released in November is has received more than700,000 video plays.

Flores' shameless takeovers include a Del Taco, Walmart,Citrus College Biology class, In-N-Out Burger, CovinaHigh School football game half timeshow, Food 4 Less grocery story, Ross department store, and a Westfield Plaza, among other locations.

Though Flores is asked toleave every venue, sometimes with the aide of a security escort, the unassumingaudiences are visibly entertained. The patrons in the WestfieldPlaza food court actually booed thesecurity guard who interrupted Flores' bit, prompting him to respond, "He doesn't like George Michael!"

The prank feels a lot like last year's "SNL" digital short "TheCurse" in which Andy Samberg was haunted by a similar bare-chested, mullet-donning,tight-pants-wearing saxophonist (played by Jon Hamm) who barges into a Sambergbusiness meeting, date, and even birth of his child unannounced. According toMike Diva, Flores helped inspire that digitalshort.

The "SNL" skit is also said to be based on musician TimmyCappello's appearance in the 1987 vampire movie "The Lost Boys." Cappello, whohas worked with Tina Turner, Peter Gabriel, and Ringo Starr, flexes his musclesand thrusts his pelvis while performing "I Still Believe" on sax.
