Leave it to Tenacious D to put together an incredible lineup for their inaugural music and comedy festival, Festival Supreme.
The musical comedy duo made up of Jack Black and Kyle Gass announced the details and lineup on Monday. The festival will take place October 19 on the pier in Santa Monica, California, and will feature heavy-hitter comedians including Adam Sandler, Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, and several artists who combine music and comedy including Reggie Watts, Fred Armisen, and Garfunkel & Oates, as well as Maya Rudolph and Gretchen Lieberum's Prince tribute band, Princess (we've got to see this one!).
"We've been trying to put this thing together for years," Tenacious D said in a statement. "The comedy and music event of the century. Festival Supreme! It will shake the heavens and bring this town to its knees...in a good way."
In typical Tenacious D fashion, the band released a brief and hilarious preview video (see above), which features the duo dressed as hippies and Black joking that putting together a festival of this magnitude was "no biggie," but he quickly changes his tune, saying, "Well, it is kind of actually a huge biggie."
