Usher’s Family Friend Under Investigation For Tragic Jet-Ski Accident

Usher {photo: Johnny Nunez}The tragic water accident that left pop star Usher's 11-year-old stepson Kyle Glover brain-dead on Monday has yet another sad element revealed this week: A family friend is reported to be the one who allegedly struck the youth with a jet ski.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard has been identified by officials and is currently under investigation for the collision, which took place Friday on Georgia's Lake Lanier.

An unidentified 15-year-old girl in the water with Glover was also hit by the vehicle, and suffered a cut to her head as well as a broken arm.

"Basically, a pontoon was pulling two juveniles on an inner tube, and the watercraft ran over the top of them," Sgt. Mike Burgamy with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources explained to the Daily News, adding that it all happened in a matter of a minute and that Glover took the brunt of the hit.

There was reportedly no alcohol involved. No charges have been filed as of yet. Officials are not sure what caused the incident, and will recommend what legal action to take based on their eventual findings--as well as Glover's medical outcome.

Glover remains in an Atlanta-area hospital. His mother, Tameka Foster, noted to Radar Online: "He's bad."

Usher (full name Usher Raymond IV) and Foster divorced in 2009 and are currently in the middle of an acrimonious custody battle for their two preschool-aged sons. Glover, who reportedly is very close with his stepfather Usher, is Foster's son from a previous relationship.
