Yahoo! Video Premiere: Green Day ‘Nuclear Family’

Green Day premieres the new song and video "Nuclear Family" in an exclusive partnership with Yahoo! Music, Warner Bros. and Spotify.

The infectious, brash track addresses social ills that threaten parents and their children. Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong sings, "It's the death of the nuclear family staring up at you," and "Like a nuclear bomb and it won't be long 'til I detonate." The video captures Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool's energizing performance in a rehearsal studio.

"Nuclear Family" follows two other U.S. singles, "Oh Love" and "Kill The DJ," and is from the band's ninth studio album, ¡Uno!, due out on September 25. ¡Uno! is the first in a trilogy of albums that also includes ¡Dos! and Tré! that are scheduled to be released in November and January, respectively.

Green Day will kick off its North American ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!¡ Tré! Tour in Seattle on November 26. Tickets go on pre-sale to Idiot Club fan club members on September 12 at 10 a.m.

It's been three years since the band issued its last album, 2009's 21st Century Breakdown.
