Now, however, we feel that Michele deserves an entire blog to herself because she won that Grammy for best alternative R&B performance, she has a new album coming out, and she was featured with an exclusive Who's Next interview and performance of "Best Of Me" way back in 2007. Take a look at that now.
We'd like to think that Michele named her new album Epiphany, due March 31, after she realized that her Who's Next performance and interview led to her Grammy nominations and subsequent award-winning triumph, but unfortunately that's not the case. "I heard the song that Ne-Yo had written titled 'Epiphany,' and the word just stood out to me," Michele recently told Billboard.com. "It stood out to me because I'd been through a lot in my last relationship, and the word 'epiphany' exemplified exactly what happened in the end when I realized I didn't have to put myself through it anymore."
Whatever the case, check out the title track below:Ne-Yo for writing and production assistance. Other producers who worked on the album include Chuck Harmony, Claude Kelly, and B Major, but Ne-Yo handled the bulk of the album, with six tracks featuring his writing and production credits. "I would sit with Ne-Yo and his production team for hours in the studio," Michele recently told the Baltimore Sun. "They allowed me to be hands-on, which I've always been. If I didn't think something worked, they listened."
While you likely won't get to listen to Epiphany until its release date, we'd like to give you an opportunity to take a look back at some of Michele's videos to whet your appetite for her new album. We have an epiphany that it'll be huge. How about you?
