Ask Bono a tough question and you might get a tougher answer. U2 are
about to release their most expansive reissue project yet, for 1991's Achtung Baby
- the album where they traded in earnest uplift for funk, noise, sex,
irony and self-doubt. So how does this lavish look back square with the
band's old lyric "You glorify the past when the future dries up"?

"I'm not so sure the future hasn't dried up," says Bono,
who's been irritating his bandmates lately by publicly questioning U2's
relevance - despite the fact that they just finished the
highest-grossing tour of all time. "The band are like, 'Will you shut up
about being irrelevant?'" he says. But Bono can't help himself - even
though U2 have been in and out of the studio with various producers
recently, he raises the possibility that the band may have released its
final album. "We'd be very pleased to end on No Line on the Horizon," he says, before acknowledging the unlikelihood of that scenario: "I doubt that."

California group PAPA is the brainchild of Girls' drummer Darren
Weiss and his friend from childhood, bassist Danny Presant. The first
single off PAPA's new EP A Good Woman Is Hard To Find is the
bright and twinkling "I Am The Lion King," which Weiss explains was
inspired by his time living in New York. "This was written while we were
living in New York, and I don't think I could have written it anywhere
else," Weiss tells Rolling Stone about the track, which infuses
pop hooks with soulful grooves. "Being a young man in that city is like
being a stick of dynamic at a gasoline party - it's stinky, strange,
explosive and wonderful. It's enough to make anyone feel like the lion
king."

Los Angeles pop duo Purple Crush are suing Lady Gaga producer Rob Fusari, claiming that he owes them money for production work for Gaga's album Born This Way.
Though their work did not make the final record, the band say that they
spent hundreds of hours working in the studio with Fusari and his
clients without compensation. Purple Crush also claim that the producer
promised to get them a record deal, though he never did.

The duo,
Isla Cheadle and Jared Selter, offered Fusari a $10,000 settlement in
April, but he refused. He responded with a $15,500 lawsuit, which the
group intends to counter, though they do not have a lawyer.

Fusari himself ultimately received no credit on Born This Way.
His relationship with Lady Gaga is somewhat strained, as they settled a
legal disagreement over song credits and royalties last year. Fusari,
an ex-boyfriend of the singer, came up with her stage name, and he
co-wrote much of her first album, including the smash hit

The Stone Roses may not be the only Britpop group gearing up for a reunion. Liam Gallager tells Rolling Stone that he would consider reconciling with his brother Noel to reunite Oasis for the 20th anniversary of the release of (What's The Story) Morning Glory.
"In 2015, if we can put our s--t aside, we can tour and play the album
in its entirety for the 20th anniversary," he says. "I'd be up for that,
if it's on our terms. There's got to be two-way respect."

In a radio interview this past August, Noel Gallagher said that breaking up Oasis was a rash decision. "We
could maybe have all gone off and done other things for a few years,"
he said. "In my own head the 2015, 20-year anniversary of Morning Glory
is looming and we could have maybe come back, made a new album and
played that album in its entirety and gone and been the greatest thing
ever, but there you go."
