Chris Brown Cast in Romantic Comedy Based on Advice Book

Chris Brown's rep tells Us Weekly that the singer-actor will play a role in the upcoming comedy Think Like a Man. The highly-anticipated film is an adaptation of Steve Harvey's New York Times best-selling book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.

Harvey, 53, published the nonfiction book in 2009 to teach women "what men really think about love, relationships, intimacy and commitment."

In the no-nonsense book, Harvey provides "some valuable information" to empower women about how to better deal with the men in their lives.

Brown's real-life romances have been a far cry from romantic-comedy material. In February 2009, he was arrested on domestic violence charges for felony abuse on then-girlfriend Rihanna. "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," he said in a statement.

The "Next 2 You" singer continued to struggle with his temper. In March 2011, when asked by Robin Roberts on Good Morning America about the incident with Rihanna, Brown was visibly irritated, then went on to smash a dressing room window by throwing a chair at it.
