The trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, has been put on hold today due to a death in the family of a witness for the prosecution.
Dr.
Steven Shafer was set to testify later today. He will be the final
witness the prosecution is expected to call before resting their case.
Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Mary Hearn told reporters that
the judge in the case will meet with prosecuting and defense lawyers to
determine when to resume the trial.
