2010 Jersey Shore
The reality phenomenon Jersey Shore is a series that follows eight housemates spending their summers together, in the first season at the Jersey Shore and the second in Miami Beach. See the Enrique Iglesias video for "I Like It" featuring the cast of Jersey Shore.
Friday Night Lights
The series based on the 2004 film and 1990 book of the same name, Friday Night Lights, began in 2007. The second volume of the soundtrack released this year features White Rabbits' "Percussion Gun."
Get Him To The Greek
The 2010 comedy Get Him To The Greek stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, who also stars in the video from the soundtrack, Infant Sorrow's "Just Say Yes."
Iron Man 2
The Iron Man 2 soundtrack is a compilation of all AC/DC songs that are featured throughout the film.
The third installment in the Twilight Saga based on Stephenie Meyer's popular book series features the lead single by Muse, "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" as well as songs by Metric, Cee-lo Green, The Bravery, Florence and the Machine, Vampire Weekend and more.
Since it's debut in 2009, Glee has become on of the most popular television series on the air and has pushed six new songs into the Hot 100 almost every week that a new episode airs.
The 2009 Best Picture winner Slumdog Millionaire also won Best Original Score and Best Original song for A.R. Rahman's work on the musical.
2008 True Blood
HBO's vampire series True Blood features the song "Bad Things" by country singer Jace Everett in its main titles.
2006 The Hills
The reality series The Hills follows the personal lives of former Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad and her friends' lives in Los Angeles. The series features licensed songs throughout each episode and Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" serves as a theme.
The medical drama House first aired in 2004 to the theme of the electronic group Massive Attack's "Teardrop."
2003 The O.C.
The theme to the teen drama The O.C. was Phantom Planet's "California," featured on the first of six compilation albums. A re-recording appeared on the fifth compilation.
2002 8 Mile
The soundtrack for the semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile by Eminem featured the Academy Award winning track "Lose Yourself" as well as other songs by the rapper and various artists.
The hit 2001 animated film Shrek featured a song by "Who Let The Dogs Out" band Baha Men, titled "Best Years Of Our Lives."
2000 Malcom in the Middle
The dysfunctional family comedy Malcolm in the Middle features the They Might Be Giants song "Boss of Me" for the opening title theme.
1998's summer blockbuster Armageddon featured an original power ballad by Aerosmith, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing." The album includes other tracks from the band, as well as other rockers Journey, ZZ Top, Bob Seger, Jon Bon Jovi, Patty Smyth and Our Lady Peace.
1995 Empire Records
The 1995 cult-classic following a group of record store employees over the course of a day was initially a box office flop, but launched the careers of many of its actors including Renee Zellwegger, Liv Tyler and Ethan Embry.
1993 Benny & Joon
The 1993 romantic comedy Benny & Joon popularized the song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by Scottish identical twins The Proclaimers.
1988 The Wonder Years
Joe Cocker's cover of the Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends" was the theme song for The Wonder Years, the classic coming of age series starring Fred Savage.
1985 Weird Science
The 1985 John Hughes film Weird Science featured the Oingo Boingo song of the same name. The 1994 television series based on the movie also features the song as its theme.
