2010 Winner: Lady Gaga "Bad Romance"
The MTV Video Music Awards were on September 12 and we're celebrating the show's 16th year by taking a look at each year's winner for Video of the Year. See this year's winning video, "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga (which won 6 additional awards: Best Pop Video, Best Female Video, Best Dance Video, Best Choreography, Best Direction and Best Editing), as well as the rest of the year's nominees--most of which also took home a Moonman in other categories.
Nominees for Video of the Year: Eminem "Not Afraid" (Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Male Video), Lady Gaga f/ Beyonce "Bad Romance" (Best Collaboration), 30 Seconds to Mars "Kings and Queens" (Best Rock Video), Florence and the Machine "Dog Days Are Over" (Best Art Direction), and B.o.B. f/ Hayley Williams "Airplanes."
2009 Winner: Beyonce "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"
In 2009, Beyonce won Video of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)," beating out Eminem's "We Made You," Lady GaGa's "Poker Face," Britney Spears' "Womanizer" and Kanye West's "Love Lockdown." The video also won two other awards for Best Choreography and Best Editing and was nominated for six other awards including Best Female Video, which one Video of the Year contender famously believed should have also gone to Beyonce.
2008 Winner: Britney Spears "Piece Of Me"
Nominees: Chris Brown's "Forever," Jonas Brothers' "Burnin' Up," Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up" and The Ting Tings' "Shut Up and Let Me Go."
2007 Winner: Rihanna f/ Jay-Z "Umbrella"
