The Twilight Saga films are an amazing work of art that have thrilled movie going audiences the world over, grossing more than a billion dollars. The author of the book series, Stephanie Meyer, used music from indie rock bands as inspiration in her writing. Therefore, it isn't surprising that the soundtracks to the Twilight Saga films are filled with love inspired indie rock anthems that compliment subjects used throughout the movies. A common theme among the music videos is the inclusion of footage from the films that add drama and intensity to the viewing experience. The fourth soundtrack, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, was released November 7. Let's take a journey back and check out the music videos that give life to the Twilight Saga sonically.

2010 The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse had an impressive debut at number two on U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Muse continues to show their allegiance to the Twilight Saga by appearing on the soundtrack for third consecutive time. Their "Neutron Star Collision [Love Is Forever]" is the consequential rock love song for Bella and Edward. Cee-Lo brings a cool old school soul vibe with "What Part of Forever." Florence + The Machine and Metric lend a female voice to the love themes with "Heavy In Your Arms" and "Eclipse[All Yours]."





2009 The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, The Twilight Saga: New Moon reached number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. This album has been certified platinum. Death Cab For Cutie wrote a song called "Meet Me on the Equinox" as the lead single that deals with love and nature as themes. The music video includes footage from the scene where Bella races through an Italian square to stop a shirtless Edward from revealing himself as vampire. Lupe Fiasco's "Solar Midnite" takes an interesting approach by mostly using scenes that feature Jacob and his werewolf brethen. If you're team Jacob this video is for you. Anya Marina's "Satellite Heart" plays extremely well paired with images of Bella and Edward hopelessly in love. "Friends", by Band Of Skulls, is from the scene where Bella does things out of character such as riding on motorcycle with a stranger.





2008 Twilight

Twilight debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at the number one spot, not to the surprise of the film's devoted fanbase. This album has been certified double Platinum. The lead single "Decode" by Paramore was nominated for a Grammy. The video includes numerous action scenes from the Twilight film itself such as the iconic sequence where Edward saves Bella from being smashed by a car. Muse's "Super Massive Black Hole" video is rich with artisic visuals, including black holes. And watch Mutemath turn an ordinary passenger van into a mobile stage in their video "Spotlight."
