  • Arnold, Arnold, Arnold... Oh well, it shouldn't be surprising that an actor/politician would cheat on his wife, but Arnold's recent downfall was still a bit depressing for me. He's not really a great actor, or a great politician, but I liked him. He always seemed so personable, funny --  an all-around likable guy, especially with the back-story of coming to America with nothing, not even a rudimentary knowledge of the English language. But now, the few fond memories we've had of Arnold have been overshadowed. He's now joined an infamous list of has-been adulterers who have fallen from grace. Maybe he can start a support group with John Edwards, Tiger Woods and Mel Gibson? I wish him no harm, and think he should be forgiven one day if he seeks forgiveness, but for now he's on America's proverbial sh*% list and this time he might not be back.

This playlist includes songs that drop the name "Schwarzenegger" somewhere in the lyrics, which is a mouthful and an accomplishment to be sure.

  • I caught a lot of flack yesterday for not producing a playlist for the end of the world, which was supposed to happen this past Saturday night according to 89-year preacher Harold Camping. Let's just say I was too busy enjoying what I thought was the last weekend of my life. Thanks Harold! As we all know, the end of the world never did arrive, but we have 2012 (the Mayan calendar end of the world date) to look forward to. I wanted to be musically prepared for the next "end of the world", so I sat down and thought hard about what my top 10 end of the world songs would be. To qualify, they had to be connected to the end of the world in some fashion and they had to be songs I would personally enjoy listening to if they turned out to be the last I ever heard.

What 10 songs would be on your end of the world list?

  • Rock and Roll has its fair share of guitar icons, but none ruled the the late 1980s and the 1990s like Slash. He helped define a band (Guns N' Roses) that many believe kept hard rock alive through the grunge onslaught. Despite what you feel about Guns N' Roses, their music has held up better than many of their 80s hair band contemporaries. Slash's aggressive attack and talent on the guitar make his playing instantly recognizable. As does his unique image --  leather? check. Top hat? Check. Curly black mane covering the eyes? Check. Gibson Les Paul? Check. You know Slash when you see him. But do you know him when you hear him?

For this playlist I've selected tracks where Slash has lent his guitar playing talent as a session man. So once you've heard him in Guns N' Roses, Snakepit and Velvet Revolver this is the playlist for you.
