The egg has been a symbol of newness, frailty and rebirth for thousands of years, so it's a natural addition to celebrations of spring. It was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus. Because of this the egg has continued to be one of the most popular symbols of Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Christ. Children dye and paint eggs, egg-shaped candy and chocolates are given in baskets and Easter egg hunts are a popular custom. Of course the egg is also an extremely popular food that's high in protein. And it can be used as a metaphor for something bad (rotten egg, egg on your face) or something good (golden egg, good egg). But what about the egg's place in music history?
Well, for this playlist I've collected 30 egg songs for you to enjoy. Let me know if you've found any that I haven't.
