Grammy Winners: 1980

As far as the Grammy awards go, 1981 was Christopher Cross' year. He became the first artist in history to win all four top Grammy awards in a single year -- these include Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist. Now the song "Sailing", from his self titled debut, may not have aged too well, but his accomplishment stands to this day. The 23rd Annual Grammy Awards were broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on February 25th, 1981 and recognized music from the year 1980. This kicked off a decade that saw many new directions in popular music. This playlist will bring back memories of the birth of the 1980s, and includes songs that won an Grammy award, or songs from albums that won a Grammy award.
