iTunes Top 10 Most Downloaded Songs – August 2011

Seven years ago today Apple's iTunes digital music store became the first online music download site to claim a catalogue of one million songs. Today, iTunes has over 14 million songs as well as millions of audiobooks, movies, TV shows, podcasts and apps. In February, 2010, Apple announced it had sold its 10 billionth song. So to say iTunes has been a success would be an understatement. Apple has a chart page that tracks the top 10 most downloaded songs in 22 different countries. It's an easy way to see what's hot across the world. This playlist includes the current top 10 most downloaded songs in the United States from the Apple iTunes store.
