Journey has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long time. It's actually kind of funny. I had a label send me a ton of reissues a couple of years ago and I ended up receiving some duplicates. I tried to GIVE them away and none of my friends would take them. I kid you not. It was a bit upsetting, but somehow this band's cheesy reputation has made people afraid to admit they like the music. Well, I won't be afraid! I will stand up, confident in my masculinity, and say it loud, "I like Journey". Steve Perry has a technically brilliant voice, the band can play and the melodies stick with you for a lifetime. I think it's just the incessant sappy love stuff that has given them a bad wrap. And... well... just look at those pants. If you're like me and have a soft spot for sensitive chick bands you may enjoy this playlist. It includes every song, in order, that appears on Journey's Greatest Hits album, but as performed by other artists. Artists who are not only unafraid to admit Journey as an influence, but had the guts to cover a Journey song, with or without the tight pants.
