St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and instead of kicking off the festivities with a traditional Irish music playlist I have chosen to do a playlist of songs by bands from Ireland.
For this list I'm only including rock bands, whether they be heavy, punk, soft, alternative, folk or any other subgenre of rock music. I avoided traditional Irish music, except where the band has clearly injected rock into the mix, like The Pogues.
Most people are very familiar with the biggest names in Irish music like U2, Van Morrison and Thin Lizzy, but there are a lot more to be discovered and enjoyed. This playlist includes 60 different bands who were all formed in Ireland and this playlist clocks in at over 3 hours.
