Friday the 13th is a holy of day for the superstitious. There is no agreement on what transformed Friday the 13th into the ultimate bad luck day, but the most sensible answer is that numerology counts 13 as unlucky, and Friday has been considered an unlucky day since the 14th century. It's my opinion that those who truly believe Friday the 13th is "unlucky" are not the best spokespeople for human intelligence. But Friday the 13th is not the only wacky superstition people have contrived. Some more popular ones include the belief that bad luck can be brought on by breaking a mirror, crossing the path of a black cat, walking under a ladder, or lighting three cigarettes with the same match.
