Papa Roach Moving Beyond Rap-Rock On New Album

(4/26/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Papa Roach's next album, Lovehatetragedy, finds the group moving beyond the rap-rock style of its breakthrough 2000 release Infest.
Guitarist Jerry Horton explains, "It's different, but the same. You just have to hear it. I can't really describe it too much. I mean, the only thing that I can say, really, is that there's less rapping on it, there's more rock on it, and a lot of the influences are hidden a little more than outwardly projected."
The Northern California group emerged as a heavy-hitter in the rap-rock movement in 2000 thanks in great part to the success of the single "Last Resort."
Lovehatetragedy arrives June 18 from DreamWorks Records. Its first single, "She Loves Me Not," arrives at radio May 7.
