Erykah Badu, Common, & Dead Prez Featured In New Wellness Documentary

(7/9/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Erykah Badu, Common, actor Ben Vereen, and Stic of Dead Prez are featured in a recently released new documentary, Wholistic Wellness For The Hiphop Generation. The film, which is 110-minutes long, was produced by Hiphop Medicine Man and Supa Nova Slom.
Badu described her eating habits during an interview included in the film. "I am a chlorophyllian," said Badu when explaining her diet. "Discipline is important, we need to be more focused on what we put in our bodies." As a chlorophyllian, Badu not only eliminates all animal products including dairy, but also eats only 10 percent of starches and 90 percent live green foods.
Common added, "I think and speak clearer since I cut the dairy out. I can breathe better and perform at a better rate, and my voice is clearer. I can explore different things with my voice that I couldn't do because of my meat and dairy ingestion. I am proud and blessed to be a vegetarian, everything became clear."
The documentary features testimonials and inspirational words and is divided into three sections: mind, body, and spirit/soul.
