Jessica Simpson to Promote Breath Mints

Singer Jessica Simpson will star in commercials marketing Hershey's new breath mints.
The commercials featuring Simpson, 23, and her sister, Ashlee, are scheduled to begin airing nationally next week. In the spots, the two will debate whether the Ice Breakers Liquid Ice mint is liquid or ice, a play off Simpson's assertion on an MTV show that Chicken of the Sea tuna was chicken.
"Jessica is a breath of fresh air with a terrific sense of humor right in tune with the Ice Breakers Liquid Ice brand," Thomas K. Hernquist, Hershey's vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a statement.
Simpson is the second major celebrity in as many months to pitch Hershey products. Last month, Hershey announced a sponsorship deal with Latino singer Thalia Sodi.
"As a busy newlywed and singer, I know how important it is to have fresh breath," Jessica Simpson said.
