Jessica Simpson Assaulted By Creamed Spinach

Jessica Simpson got an unwelcome extra helping of creamed spinach when she dined at the South Beach steakhouse Smith and Wollensky recently. The New York Post reports that a waiter accidentally dumped a bowl of creamed spinach all over Simpson's dress. Some of the restaurant staff started laughing at the incident, as did the MTV crew that filmed the whole thing for Simpson's reality show. Simpson's husband, Nick Lachey, was not amused by the laughing onlookers, and demanded that the restaurant's manager make the staff apologize.
Lachey reportedly complained about the temperature of his filet mignon and later refused to pay the bill. Sources say that MTV picked up the tab.
In other news, the Tarrant Corporation announced today that it will design, manufacture, and distribute Simpson's clothing line. The collection will include Jessica Simpson branded jeans and casual apparel in missy, junior, and large sizes. The lines are expected to launch in fall 2005. Tarrant also produces clothing lines for Express, Kmart and Macy's.
