Canadian punk rockers Sum 41 will possibly record a full-length "mash-up" album with rapper Ludacris, according to MTV.com. The group served as the backup band for Ludacris when he performed his recent single, "Get Back," on the January 22 edition of NBC-TV's Saturday Night Live. Sum 41 drummer Steve Jocz admitted that "discussions" are underway for an entire album's worth of collaborations, although he added, "I don't know anything else. I'm a little low on the totem pole to be involved in any discussions."
The album might be similar to Linkin Park's recent mash-up with rapper Jay-Z, Collision Course.
Sum 41 has also landed an opening slot on the summer leg of Motley Crue's Carnival Of Sin tour, which begins on July 27 in Sacramento, California. Jocz said that doing the tour was a no-brainer: "When they asked us if we wanted to hit the road with them, we were like, 'F--k yeah!' I remember as a kid, being so interested in their personality. They're one of the bands that make you want to get in a band. Their whole life is partying and having fun."
Meanwhile, Sum 41 will headline their own North American trek, which starts on April 7 in Toronto and has dates booked so far through May 8 in Jacksonville, Florida. Unwritten Law will be the support act. Sum 41 continues to support their latest album, Chuck.
