The Pussycat Dolls are to star in a new reality TV series.
The show, The Search For The Next Pussycat Doll--launched by TV network CW--pits female wannabes against each other as they compete to become the band's seventh member. Each hour-long episode will revolve around casting sessions, watched over by the band themselves and their manager/creator Robin Antin.
According to Dawn Ostroff, CW's president of entertainment, the show will focus primarily on "girl power."
Speaking to Variety magazine, she said: "At its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll; it's about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation."
The show is expected to air next year.
The Pussycat Dolls were created 10 years ago by Antin as a burlesque act that featured a rotating roster of talent. Their debut album, PCD, has sold an estimated 4.7 million copies worldwide.
