What’s that saying about the family that plays together stays together? Tyler, Texas’s Eisley are three sisters, a brother and best friend who play with a professional polish well beyond their youthful years and after several EPs have finally finished their first proper album. Yet, while they sing and play like seasoned pros--just listen to the vocal interplay between Stacy and Sherri on “Brightly Wound” for starters--their songs express the wonder and excitement that accompanies “coming of age.” Their optimism shines throughout. Even the wife remembering her dead husband on the album’s opening track, “Memories,” is comforted by her remembrances and not too deeply saddened by his passing. This glass-half-full approach gives Eisley a lightness of being that makes perfect sense for their Cranberries-inspired pop that’s lush in its simple acoustic and lightly amplified guitar and keyboard textures. Mostly, though, it’s about young voices staring at the sky on a night when all the stars seem within reach.
