Woodward explained that "Blindsided" is a song about being obsessed with someone. "Blindsided is the second track on my record," Woodward said. "It's about having that haunting obsession/crush/love-thing for someone where it just doesn't go away."
The Bronx, New York native said she's still surprised that her first single was received so well. "I'm surprised about 'Dumb Girls' getting out there at all," Woodward added. "Because, I wrote it before I had a [recording] deal. So, it's kind of like, you know I was going through a breakup, and you write this song, and you never think that when you're writing a song, 'Wow, it's going to hit millions of people.' So that alone, I'm still like, 'Oh, my God...' That process is incredible."
Woodward will join Vanessa Carlton, Mya, and Tweet in Central Park in New York City on August 7 to perform as part of the 3rd annual Pantene Pro-Voice competition. For more information about the competition check out the Website, pantene.com.
