Atoms for Peace Release 'Amok' Stream, Hint at More U.S. Tour Dates

Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich had some fun with their fans today in an Atoms for Peace "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit. They released a stream of their forthcoming album Amok, hinted at more U.S. dates and chatted about working with Jack White at Third Man Studios.

Yorke and Godrich tag-teamed the AmA – at times not clarifying who was replying to what – but they had answers for many commenters. When asked if Atoms for Peace will play more U.S. dates, they replied, "Oh yes!" but didn't say anything about further plans. Another fan asked about the leak of Amok, to which both Yorke and Godrich gave cheeky replies before posting the link to the album's stream. "Well. . . unsurprised?" said one. "Oh, did it? How nice," quipped the other. Godrich also noted that he has no plans for an Atoms for Peace episode on his From the Basement podcast.

Yorke and Godrich also had some news on the Radiohead front. A fan was interested in hearing official versions of unreleased tracks "The Present Tense" and "Burn the Witch," and the duo confirmed the existence of the former, responding, "Def the first one!" Another curious commenter wanted to know their favorite unreleased Radiohead tracks, and Godrich jokingly responded, "I like all 50 of the new Radiohead songs." When asked about recording with Jack White at Third Man, Yorke and Godrich touched on the specifics of the session. "We now have two unfinished tracks," they wrote, "one of which is 'Identikit.'"

Atoms for Peace will release their debut album, Amok, on February 26th. Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood recently revealed that the band will reconvene in September to work on their next album. Yorke and Godrich also have booked three shows in New York, London and Berlin for this month and next with just two turntables and a microphone.
